The Diploma in Zoonotic Diseases in the Americas included an optional field trip (April 17-24, 2026), combining theoretical learning with practical activities in rural communities and specialized centers. This provided participants with a broad understanding of the epidemiology, diagnosis, and treatment of these diseases in real-world settings. We visited Coclesito, the Capira Health Center, Santo Tomás Hospital, Irma de Lourdes Tzanetatos Hospital, the Maravillas Tropicales Serpentarium, and the Metropolitan Natural Park (Parque Natural Metropolitano).
