On February 21 and 22, we held our workshop “Arboviruses and Global Health: From Vectors to the Clinic,” which was a great success. With a full auditorium, we had a field experience: the first day was devoted to hands-on practice setting CDC traps to capture mosquitoes in the Metropolitan Natural Park (Parque Natural Metropolitano). The traps were collected very early the next day, and we then went to the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences of the University of Panama, where we delivered the full theoretical program and examined the captured specimens with optical equipment, with an emphasis on those of medical importance.
We thank the Director of the Metropolitan Natural Park, Dr. Dionora Víquez, and Professor Eddy Barraza of the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences for their collaboration, as well as Lic. Andrés Salazar of Alpha Mediq.
